Object 9's Donation Supports Continued Excellence at The Manship Theatre
As donations to nonprofits continue to be affected by the challenging economy, Object 9 has strived to help meet the needs of local organizations that greatly benefit the community. Recently, Object 9 made a $2,500 donation to the Manship Theatre, a Baton Rouge venue dedicated to cultivation and presentation of world class performances. Housed within the Shaw Center for the Arts, the theatre features all forms of dance, family programs, music, film, literature, musical theatre and emerging art. Additionally, it offers performing and visual arts courses and seminars, and provides demonstrations and workshops.
“We chose the Manship Theatre not only because we have a passion for the arts but also because it takes support and funding to continue to bring great acts and programs to our community,” said Jon Cato, Object 9 managing partner. "It's also proven that art keeps students in school, provides motivation and help them understand the world in which they live.” A jewel in the Baton Rouge community, The Manship Theatre is modeled after the style of classic European opera houses and is one of the most beautifully intimate theatres in the United States. Once audience members experience live performances at this venue, they realize its true intrinsic value to the region.
“Generous donations enable the Manship Theatre to continue its operations and bring a unique blend of programming to the residents of our community,” stated John Spain, executive vice president, Baton Rouge Area Foundation. “The theatre will provide children’s programming, country and rock & roll, multiple theatrical productions, dance and jazz. Without the support of donors like this we wouldn’t be able to operate.” Visit The Manship Theatre for more details on the Theatre and a calendar of events.
