Just as the Franz Haas winery marries precision and artistry in winemaking, the new Kris Wine Web site blends art and wine for a unique gallery experience. Object 9’s design mission is to make consumers feel as if they are sitting in an art gallery room where Kris Wines are on display along with paintings and other fine art. “The Kris Web site design needed to strike a balance between the content, promotions and images while still maintaining the artistic expression representative of the Italian handcrafted wine,” said Andy Gutowski, Object 9 partner and creative director.
The design and navigation reflects the clean, contemporary personality of Kris’ Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Visitors to the site can learn the history of the Franz Haas Winery, producer of Kris, and get an in-depth look at Kris’ distinct labels, sketched by contemporary Italian artist Riccardo Schweizer who was inspired by Kris’ blend of art and science in the winemaking process. The site also gives visitors a chance to discover ongoing promotions and giveaways, or use the product locator tool to find where their favorite variety of Kris is sold. The Trade section is targeted to sales team members, distributors and media, and includes downloadable sales and marketing materials.
The Web site and marketing and sales materials not only tell the story of Kris Wine, but they also showcase Kris’s passion for art and culture. The frames, colors, background pattern and textures used on the Web site were incorporated from the Kris brochure and point-of-sale materials. “Object 9’s creative Web design builds upon our strategy of growing the Kris brand through its handcrafted, artistic positioning and reflects its success as the #1 Italian Pinot Grigio between $10-$15,” stated Brad Mayer, Marketing Director at Winebow.
